      1. The applicant must be a citizen of India.
      2. Relaxation in age limit will be allowed to SC/ST/OBC/PH and other notified categories as per the Govt. of India orders issued from time to time. However, age relaxation to SC/ST/OBC candidates is allowed only in cases where the posts are reserved for them.
      3. Relaxation in age limit up to five years may be allowed to the Council / Government /Aut0nom0us Bodies / Public Sector employees in accordance with the instructions and orders issued by the Government of India from time to time. There is no age limit for departmental candidates, provided they possess the prescribed qualifications.
      4. As per 601 provisions, age relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women and Women Judicially separated from Husbands who are not remarried, the upper age limit is relaxable up to the age of 35 years (up to 40 years for members of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and up to 38 years for members belonging to the Other Backward Classes in respect of the posts reserved for them). The persons claiming age relaxation under this sub-para would be required to produce following documentary evidence: i. In case of Widow, Death Certificate of her husband together with the Affidavit that she has not remarried since. ii. In case of divorced Women and Women judicially separated from their husbands, a certified copy of the judgment/decree of the appropriate Court to prove the fact of divorce or the judicial separation, as the case may be, with an Affidavit in respect of divorced Women and they have not remarried since.
      5. Relaxation in age limit to Ex Servicemen (EXS) shall be 3 years deduction of actual military service from their actual age.
      6. Age relaxation is admissible by five years for persons who have ordinarily domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1St January, 1980 to 31St December, 1989.
      7. The cut-off date for determining the age, qualifications and experience shall be is the last date for receipt of applications.
      8. All applications received will be screened and suitable number of candidates will be shortlisted for test/ interview. Mere fulfillment of essential educational qualifications & experience does not entitle a candidate to be called for test / interview. Duly constituted Screening Committee shall lay down the criteria to shortlist the candidates for test/interview. The decision of the Director, CSIRCGCRI, in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection etc. will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this regard from any candidate or his/her agency.
      9. CSIR-CGCRI reserves the right to review the eligibility/ineligibility of a candidate at any stage of the recruitment process and such decisions as may result after review will be final and binding on the candidates. Ineligibility of candidates detected at any stage can render him/her liable to be disqualified/ debarred.
      10. Applications from employees working in Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings, Central Universities and Government funded Research Agencies will be considered only if forwarded through proper channel with a clear certificate that in case of selection, the applicant will be relieved within one month of receipt of offer of appointment.
      11. The posts carry usual allowances as admissible to Central Goyemment employees as made applicable to CSlR employees of the same pay and status stationed at this Institute.
      12. The service is pensionable based on defined contribution under the J[New Pension Scheme+ as made applicable to Council employees w.e.f. 1.1.2004. However, persons selected from other Government Departments / Autonomous Bodies / Public Sector Undertakings / Central Universities having Pension Scheme on GOI pattern and who are presently being governed by old Pension Scheme will continue to be governed by the existing Pension Scheme i.e. CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972.
      13. Candidates called for interview will be paid single second class to and fro rail fare by the shortest route from the place of their residence/actual departing station, whichever is nearer to Kolkata.
      14. The Post Code and Name of the post applied for should be clearly mentioned on the envelope containing the application.
      15. Higher qualifications than the one desired will be considered ineligible.
      16. Women candidates are encouraged to apply. This is in accordance with the policy of Government of India for maintaining gender equality.

      1. Eligible candidates are required to download application form from the Institute’s website
      2. If the candidate does not have a valid email id, he/she should create a new valid email id before applying.
      3. Candidates are required to arrange for a crossed Demand Draft for Rs.100/ drawn on any nationalized bank and valid for at least 3 months in favour of “Director, CGCRI” payable at Kolkata. The last date for submitting application and making of Demand is 31st October, 2014. This date will be the same for the candidates belonging to areas. The following details must be filled up on back side of Demand (i) Candidate’s Name, (ii) Candidate’s Category, (iii) Post Code Applied For. The candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH/Women/CSIR Employees/Abroad Candidates category are exempted from submission of application fee.
      4. In case of universities/institute awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their university/institute.
      5. This application duly accompanied by self-attested copies of the certificates, mark sheets, testimonials in support of age, education qualifications, experience and caste certificate, if applicable, along with one recent passport size self-signed photograph affixed on the form together with Demand Draft (if applicable) should be sent in an envelope of the size of 25 cm X 30 cm superscribed “APPLICATION FOR THE ‘POST OF (Post Code by post to the address:Administrative Officer, CSIR-Central Glass & Ceramic Research Institute, 196, Raja S. C. Mullick Road, Kolkata — 700032. Candidates applying for more than one post must submit separate application form for each post indicating the Code No. of the post. Each application must be accompanied by separate Demand
      6. Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and fees once paid will not be refunded on any count nor can it be held in reserve for any other recruitment or selection process. Applications from employees of Government Departments will be considered only if forwarded through proper channel, certified by the employer that the applicant, if selected will be relieved within one month of the receipt of the appointment orders. Also, vigilance clearance should also be recorded. However, advance copy of the application may be submitted before the closing date.
