Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) invites applications for recruitment of Reader, Senior Lecturer, Professor in Chandigarh. Last date for application is 4th September 2015.

  1. Reader (Endocrinology) Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register. (ii) DM (Endocrinology) or equivalent from a recognized University/Medical College / Teaching Institution. (iii) Four years teaching experience in the concerned speciality after acquiring DM (Endocrinology) qualification, as Assistant Professor / Senior Lecturer/ Lecturer in a Recognized Medical College/Teaching Institution. (iv) Minimum to two Research Publications in Indexed / National Journals provided that these research publications are published/accepted for publication in the journals by the National Association/Societies of the respective specialities as the First / Second Author. Further provided that the requirement of 2 research publications for promotion to the post of Associate Professor should be fulfilled with 2 research publication must be published during the tenure of Assistant Professor.
  2. Reader (Medical Gastroenterology) Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed (i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register. (ii) DM (Medical Gastroenterology)/DM (Gastroenterology) or equivalent from a recognized University/Medical College / Teaching Institution. (iii) Four years teaching experience in the concerned speciality after acquiring DM (Medical Gastroenterology) / DM (Gastroenterology) qualification, as Assistant Professor / Senior Lecturer/ Lecturer in a Recognized Medical College / Teaching Institution. (iv) Minimum to two Research Publications in Indexed/National Journals provided that these research publications are published/accepted for publication in the journals by the National Association/Societies of the respective specialities as the First/Second Author. (iii) Four years teaching experience in the concerned speciality after acquiring M.Ch. (Cardio Vascular & Thoracic Surgery)/M.Ch (Cardiac Surgery)/M.Ch. (Thoracic Surgery) qualification, as Assistant Professor / Senior Lecturer/ Lecturer in a Recognized Medical College / Teaching Institution. (iv) Minimum to two Research Publications in Indexed/National Journals provided that these research publications are published/accepted for publication in the journals by the National Association/Societies of the respective specialities as the First/Second Author. Senior Lecturer (Neurology), (Cardio Vascular & Thoracic Surgery), (Cardiology), (Endocrionology), (Medical Gastroenterology), (Plastic Surgery) and (Urology) Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed (i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register. (ii) DM/M.Ch in the concerned speciality or equivalent from a recognized University/Medical College / Teaching Institution. (iii) Three years teaching experience in the concerned speciality after acquiring DM/M.Ch. qualification, as Resident / Registrar /Demonstrator/Tutor in a Recognized Medical College/Teaching Institution.
  5. Professor/Physiology Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed A(i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register. A(ii) M.D. (Physiology)/MBBS with M.Sc. (Physiology) from a recognized University/Institution or equivalent. OR B(i) M.Sc. (Medical Physiology) from a recognized University or equivalent. B(ii) Ph.D. (Medical Physiology)/ D.Sc. (Medical Physiology) from a recognized University / Institution or equivalent. II. Ten year’s experience in the profession after acquiring Post-graduate qualification, out of which four year’s should be as Reader / Associate Professor in a Recognized Medical College/Teaching Institution. Desirable :-Minimum four Research Publications indexed in Index Medicus/National Journals and one Research Publication in International Journals.
  6. Senior Lecturer/Pathology Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed (i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register; (ii) M.D. (Pathology) / Ph.D. (Pathology)/ D.Sc. (Pathology) from a recognized University/Institution or equivalent. (iii) Three year’s teaching experience in the concerned speciality after acquiring postgraduate qualification as Lecturer/ Registrar / Senior Resident/ Demonstrator/ Tutor in a recognized Medical College / Teaching Institution.
  7. Senior Lecturer/Forensic Medicine Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed (i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register; (ii) M.D. (Forensic Medicine) from a recognized University/ Institution or equivalent. (iii) Three year’s teaching experience in the concerned speciality after acquiring postgraduate qualification as Lecturer/ Registrar / Senior Resident/Demonstrator/ Tutor in a recognized Medical College / Teaching Institution.
  8. Senior Lecturer/ Anaesthesiology Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed (i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register. (ii) M.D. (Anaesthesiology) / M.S. (Anaesthesiology) from a recognized University/Institution or equivalent. (iii) Three year’s teaching experience in the concerned speciality after acquiring postgraduate qualification as Lecturer/ Registrar / Senior Resident / Demonstrator/ Tutor in a recognized Medical College/Teaching Institution.
  9. Senior Lecturer/ IHBT Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed (i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register; (ii) D.M. (Immunology) or M.D.(Immuno Haematology and Blood Transfusion)/M.D. (Pathology or Bacteriology or Haematology) with two year’s teaching experience or special training in the Department of Immuno Haematology and Blood Transfusion from a recognised University/ Institution or equivalent. (iii) Three year’s teaching experience in the concerned speciality after acquiring postgraduate qualification as Lecturer/ Registrar / Senior Resident/ Demonstrator/ Tutor in a recognized Medical College / Teaching Institution.
  10. Senior Lecturer/Community Medicine Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed (i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register; (ii) M.D.(Social and Preventive Medicine)/ M.D. (Community Medicine) from a recognized University/ Institution or equivalent. (iii) Three year’s teaching experience in the concerned speciality after acquiring postgraduate qualification as Lecturer/ Registrar / Senior Resident/Demonstrator/ Tutor in a recognized Medical College / Teaching Institution.
  11. Senior Lecturer/Biochemistry Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed I.A. (i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register; (ii) M.D. (Biochemistry) / MBBS with M.Sc.(Medical Biochemistry) from a recognized University / Institution or equivalent. OR B (i) M.Sc. (Medical Biochemistry) from a recognized University or equivalent. (ii) Ph.D. (Medical Biochemistry)/D.Sc. (Medical Biochemistry) from a recognized University / Institution or equivalent. II. Three year’s teaching experience in the concerned speciality after acquiring postgraduate qualification as Lecturer/ Registrar / Senior Resident/ Demonstrator/ Tutor in a recognized Medical College / Teaching Institution.

Senior Lecturer/Tuberculosis & Respiratory Diseases Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed (i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register; (ii) M.D. (Tuberculosis)/M.D. (TB & Respiratory Diseases)/M.D.(Medicine) with TDDDTD or DTCD/M.D. (TB & Chest Diseases) from a recognized University/ Institution or equivalent. (iii) Three year’s teaching experience in the concerned speciality after acquiring postgraduate qualification as Lecturer/ Registrar / Senior Resident/Demonstrator/ Tutor in a recognized Medical College/ Teaching Institution.

Senior Lecturer/ENT Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed (i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register; (ii) M.S. (Oto-Rhino-Laryangology) from a recognized University/Institution or equivalent. (iii) Three year’s teaching experience in the concerned speciality after acquiring postgraduate qualification as Lecturer/ Registrar / Senior Resident/ Demonstrator/ Tutor in a recognized Medical College/ Teaching Institution.
  14. Senior Lecturer/General Surgery Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed (i) A basic University or equivalent qualification included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register; (ii) M.S. (Surgery) / M.S. (General Surgery) from a recognized University/ Institution or equivalent.
