Deputy Director Dairy/Dairy Development Officer

Applications from the eligible candidates are invited for the following posts on prescribed form downloadable from the University website www.gadvasu.in. The application forms duly filled/completed in all respects alongwith two self addressed envelope bearing postage stamps of Rs.25/- each should reach in the office of the Registrar, GADVASU, Ludhiana by 22.07.2014.

Name of the posts : Deputy Director Dairy (Group-A) 

  1. Pay Scale  : Rs.10300-34800/-+ G.P.Rs.5000/-
  2. No. of posts : 02
  3. Basic qualifications : (i) B.Sc. Dairy Husbandry OR
    B.Sc. Dairy Technology OR B.Tech (Dairy Technology) from a recognized university Or Institution; and (ii)Should have five years experience of working in the field of Dairy Extension or milk procurement from Dairy Development Department of Government of India or of a State Government or in Public or Private Sector. (iii) Pass in Punjabi upto Matric standard (if not
    the candidate is required to pass the same during the period of probation in case of selection).
  4. Age:- The age should not be less than 18 years and not more than 38 years as on 01.01.2014.
  5. Job Profile: The incumbent selected for this post will head the district level functioning of the department and will report to the Director, Dairy as well as Deputy Commissioner. He will be
    responsible for organizing and executing all the activities of the department within the district and to achieve the targets fixed for the entire district. His job includes: – – dairy training, education and extension; – establishment of new dairy farms;
    – extending help for getting institutional finance, purchasing quality milch animals and other operations of the dairy farms;
    – facilitating mechanization of dairy farm operations; – exerting quality control on compounded cattle feed, concentrates and mineral mixtures and arousing awareness about the same;
    – arousing awareness among the milk consumers about the quality of milk and milk products; – administration of staff of the department in the district; – managing resources effectively and efficiently; – liaison with other departments and organizations including financial institutions and insurance companies; – working as a link between the stakeholders in the district and the department/ Government.

  1. Pay Scale  : Rs.10300-34800/-+ G.P.Rs. 4400/-

  3. Basic qualifications : (i) B.Sc. Dairy Husbandry OR B.Sc. Dairy Technology OR B.Tech (Dairy Technology) from a recognized
    university Or Institution; and (ii) Should have an experience of working in the Department of Dairy Development of Government of India or of a State Government or in the field of milk procurement or Dairy Extension in a milk plant of Public Sector or Private Sector for a minimum period of two years.  (iii) Pass in Punjabi upto Matric standard. (if not the candidate is required to pass the same during the period of probation in case of selection).
  4. Age:- The age should not be less than 18 years and not more than 38 years as on 01.01.2014.
  5. Job Profile: The incumbent selected for this post will head the Officer-in-charge of one the Dairy training and Extension Centre of the Department. He will head the institution and will be responsible for its efficient and effective functioning. He will report to the Director Dairy. His job will include: – – running of different dairy training programmes effectively; – developing and maintaining a pool of expert guest faculty; – organizing educational tours for the trainees; – Acquiring and maintaining high quality training aids; – Maintaining income and expenditure account of the centre; – managing resources effectively and efficiently; – liaison with other departments and organizations;
    – working as a link between the trainees and the department / Government; – performing administrative functions of the training centre; – maintaining proper record of the centre.

Important Instructions:-

  1. Incomplete applications/not on the prescribed form/applications received after the due date, without  application fees shall not be considered. The University shall not be responsible for any postal  delay or loss in transit.
  2. The last date for receipt of applications in the office of Registrar, GADVASU, Ludhiana is  22.07.2014.
  3. In-service candidates should apply through proper channel.
  4. The relaxation in upper age for reserve categories shall be as per Punjab Govt. rules i.e. relaxation  in upper age for SC/BC candidates is 5 years, Physically Handicapped 10 years and Ex Servicemen Category candidates, the age relaxation will be as follows:  “For recruitment to any vacancy in the State Civil Services whether reserved or not under  these rules, an Ex-Serviceman shall be allowed to deduct the period of his service in the  Armed Forces of the Union for his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the  maximum age limit prescribed for direct appointment to such vacancy in the concerned  Service rules, by more than 3 years, he shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding  age limit.
  5. For those candidates who are already in Government Service, if eligible, age relaxation will be upto  45 years.
  6. The number of posts can be increased/decreased without any notice.
  7. The candidate should fulfill the requisite qualifications by the last date for receipt of application i.e.  22.07.2014.
  8. The written test will be conducted for both the posts of 100 marks and qualifying marks will be 35%.  No TA/DA will be paid for the journey performed for the written test.
  9. Candidates are requested to mention their sub category viz-a-viz caste in application form.
  10. Before applying for these posts, the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfils the requisite qualifications, age, other terms & conditions strictly as per advertisement. If at any stage, it is found  that the candidate does not fulfill the qualifications/ other terms & conditions or the certificates of the  candidate are found fictitious/bogus, his/her candidature will be cancelled even after issuing the  appointment letter and action will be taken as per law.
  11. When applying for more than one post, separate application form should be submitted for each  post.
  12. The candidate must bring the Admit Card on the day of written examination at the venue of the  examination centre. The candidate without Admit Card will not be allowed to appear in the written  examination.
  13. The candidate should submit the application form along with attested copies of certificates and  mark sheets from Matric onwards in support of their qualifications. The original certificates  regarding eligibility for a particular post shall be verified/checked at the time of final selection by the  concerned Departments.
  14. The candidates are advised to remain in touch with the GADVASU website www.gadvasu.in for  date of written test/results etc.
  15. If the Admit card is not received by the candidate, he/she may collect the duplicate Admit Card from  the office of the Registrar three days before the date of written test. He/she should also bring two  passport size photographs and identity proof for this purpose.
  16. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
