QUALIFICATIONS: 

Centre for Economic Studies and Policy (CESP)
Essential

 

a)      Master’s Degree with 55% marks in the aggregate.

b)     Ph.D. or published work of equivalent standard in the subject.

c)      Three years teaching and/or research experience in the subject.

d)     Publications in the subject.

 Desirable a)       Specialization and publications in Industrial / International / Public Economics with applications of quantitative methods.

b)      Knowledge of Kannada (atleast to speak) and good proficiency in English (speaking and writing).

c)       A satisfactory score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) system developed by UGC in its notification.

Centre for Ecological Economics and Natural Resources (CEENR)
Essential

 

a)      Master’s Degree in Economics / Environmental Sciences with 55% marks in the aggregate

b)     Ph.D. or published work of equivalent standard in the subject

c)      Three years teaching and/or research experience in the subject

d)     Publications in the subject.

 Desirable a)       Specialization and publications in Environmental Economics or Environmental Sciences

b)      Knowledge of Kannada (atleast to speak) and good proficiency in English (speaking and writing).

Centre for Research in Urban Affairs (CRUA)
Essential

 

 a)    Master’s Degree in Sociology, Public Administration, Public Policy, Urban Planning with 55% marks in the aggregate;

b)  Ph.D or published work in the subject: Urban Studies.

c)   Three years teaching and/or research experience in the subject;

d)  Publications in the subject.

 Desirable a)     Contribution to policy studies and activities related to urban affairs.

b)     Knowledge of Kannada (atleast to speak) and good proficiency in English (speaking and writing).

c)      A satisfactory score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) system developed by UGC in its notification.

Age Limit: Upper age limit is 35 years. In case of ‘SC/ST/Backward Classes/Backward Tribes’ and ‘Persons with Disability’, the age limit is relaxable upto 5 years and 10 years respectively.

Duration: The appointment for the above posts will be on contract basis for a period of 5 years, including one year of probation.  Depending on the evaluation at the end of the contract period, the appointment shall either be made permanent or the contract extended or terminated.

Pay Scale (Assistant Professor):    Rs.15,600-39,100 + AGP Rs.6,000. Gross amount in the beginning of the scale of pay is approximately Rs.50,080/- p.m. Exceptionally qualified candidates suitable for the post may be offered higher pay not exceeding four increments at the minimum of the time scale of pay.

Campus Facilities: On-campus housing will be provided subject to availability. Campus has Bank and Post Office facilities.

The shortlisted candidates will be informed to attend an interview.  ISEC can host the short listed candidates for a couple of days for this purpose.  Merely satisfying the eligibility norms does not entitle a candidate to be called for the faculty seminar and interview.  Depending upon the number of applications received in relation to number of vacancies, the Institute reserves the right to call only a limited number of candidates after preliminary screening with reference to their qualifications, suitability, experience, etc. The Selection Committee may consider suitable candidates from outside the shortened list. The decision of the Selection Committee shall be full and final and the Selection Committee has all authority on the selection of the candidate.
