NIMHANS is conducting WALK-IN-INTEVIEW on 20.10.2014 at 11.00 a.m., to fill one posts of “Histopathology Technician & Data Entry Operator-Grade B” on adhoc basis for the Project entitled “Development of Neuroscience Education Material for popularizing Neuroscience under Human Brain Bank” – under Dr.S.K.Shankar., Emeritus Professor,Department of Neuropathology & Principal Investigator. The desirous candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned below are advised to appear straight away before the interview Board at the venue mentioned below, alongwith their Bio-data and testimonials in original as well as set of photo-copies.

Histopathology Technician & Data Entry Operator-Grade B:

Histopathology Technician:

        1. No of post : 01
        2. Scale of pay – Rs.16,000/- per month (fixed)
        3. Duration – Three years only (Temporary) Initial appointment will be made for a period of one year which will be extendable at the end of every one year till the completion of the project, depending on the performance of the candidate.
        4. Age limit – 35 Years
        5. Qualification – BMLT with experience in histopathology.
        6. Experience – Experience in processing and preparation of histological material related to Neuropathology. Knowledge of immunohistochemistry.
        7. Desirable – 1. Basic knowledge computers and data entry and record keeping.2. Knowledge of waste disposal procedures for biological samples.3. Initiative to interact with public to explain the specimens in the Neuropathology Museum.
        8. Job Description – 1. Specimen collection, identification, proper fixation, storage and retrieval of tissues as advised by the Officer In charge.2. Assist in dissection of fresh brain specimens even after office hours.3. Preparation of histological material including special stains relevant to nervous system for preparing teaching sets.4. Perform immunohistochemistry work and PCR under supervision.5. Ensure quality control with maintenance of log books.6. Follow waste disposal procedure in co-ordination with other staff.7. Assist in data entry and retrieval for distribution of brain serum, CSF samples stored in the Brain Bank.8. Ensure maintenance of equipment, deep freezers and keep the Officer-in-charge informed regarding the state of functioning periodically and ensure maintenance work.9. Any other work assigned by the Officer-in-charge

Data Entry Operator – Grade B:

        1. No of post : 01
        2. Scale of pay – Rs.16,000/- per month (fixed)
        3. Duration – Three years only (Temporary) Initial appointment will be made for a period of one year which will be extendable at the end of every one year till the completion of the project, depending on the performance of the candidate.
        4. Age limit – 35 Years (relaxable for candidates with experience)
        5. Qualification – Graduation – Biology, Arts, Commerce
        6. Experience – Experience in record keeping, accountancy Proof reading and editing and typing is essential.
        7. Desirable – Initiative to assist in preparation of teaching material and posters as educational material. Knowledge of computers for preparation of power point presentation and adobe Photoshop for editing images.
        8. Job Description – 1. Maintenance of records and accountancy 2. Maintaining time lines in correspondence with ICMR and institutions requesting for teaching material.3. Assist the Office In-charge to ensure prompt distribution of teaching material to institutions.4. Preparation of indents and follow up purchase orders.5. Assist in periodic submission of the accounts to funding agency.6. Participate in demonstrating the specimens in the Brain Museum after familiarizing with the Officer In-charge.7. Preparation of teaching material including power point presentation material.8. Any other work assigned by the Officer In-charge
