Detail of National Institute of Technology (NIT Sikkim) Assistant Professor & More Vacancies Recruitment:

National Institute of Technology Sikkim has been established by an act of Parliament. Its mandate is to offer programme at Bachelor, Master, PhD and Post-Doctoral level and to carry out research in emerging areas. The Institute faculties have already received considerable funding for prestigious R&D projects and are establishing collaboration with distinguished Indian and foreign universities. The climatic condition and the ambience in and around the Institute, nestled in the lofty mountains of the Himalayas, are excellently serene.

The Institute is looking for dynamic, sincere and committed individuals possessing consistent good academic records, to take the challenges of a developing an institute of international repute. The following during the past six years (i) 04 papers in SCI journals; (ii) 02 high value sponsored or consultancy projects plus one ongoing; (iii) Academic outreach activity equivalent to 03 self-financed short – term courses offered as coordinator and main teacher; (iv) Three experiments or computational projects added to teaching laboratories (v) Significant contribution to Institute management through personal initiative in responsible positions. Truly significant contribution in one area-publications, writing of text books or reference books, sponsored projects consultancy and support to industry, E-learning packages, creative contribution to institute’s welfare.

        2. The date for determining eligibility of candidates in every respect shall be as such the closing date for receipt of applications.
        3.  Mere fulfilment of minimum qualification and experience requirements do not entitle any candidate to be called for interview. The Institute has the right to set higher norms than minimum while short listing, taking into account the specific requirements of the individual departments. The short listing norms may not be uniform across the departments of the Institute. The decision of the Institute related to all matters pertaining to the recruitment shall be final and binding on the applicants.
        4. The Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all the posts of the specialization(s)/ Department(s), without assigning any reason whatsoever.
        5. Only the shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. No interim communication on the status of application will be entertained.

        14.  Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories are required to attach the cast certificate duly signed by competent authority in the format as prescribed by the Government of India. Candidates belonging to OBC category shall also submit photocopy of non-creamy layer certificate of 2014-15 without which they will be considered only for OPEN category. The Institute follows the central Govt. approved list for SC/ST/OBC.
        15. Reservation for PWD (PDA) category exists as per Government of India norms. Positions from this category will be filled up depending on the availability of suitable candidate. Candidates may indicate this in their application form and bring necessary certificates from competent authority as applicable to Central Government Service norms, at the time of interview. The final selection will be made on the basic of the recommendation of a Medical Board/Officer being appointed for examining the physical disability.
