Detail Of Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) Office Attendant & More Vacancies Recruitment:

The State Programme Management Unit of the Punjab Pollution Control Board urgently requires persons for the following posts to be filled on contract basis, for the UNIDO Project on Environmentally Sound Management of Medical Wastes.

Position Title Assistant Project Coordinator/Project Officer:

  1. Number of Positions Two
  2. Organization State Project Management Unit (SPMU), Punjab Pollution Control Board, Punjab Project “Environmentally Sound Management of Medical wastes”.
  3. Duration of Contract 2 years (Initial appointment will be for 6 months but renewable based on performance)
  4. The Project is the outset of ratification of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) by India on 13.01.2006; for which the country is required to take up environmentally sound management of POPs including those generated from incineration of Bio Medical waste. The objective of the project is to reduce and ultimately eliminate the release of unintentionally produced POPs and other global harmful pollutants into the environment and assist India in implementing its relevant obligation.
  5. Duties and Responsibilities Under the overall supervision of the State Project Management Unit (SPMU), the successful candidate will be responsible: a) To assist in planning, designing and implementing various project activities for achievement of ultimate project goal. b) One of the two Project Officer positions will be used to implement various components/deliverables of the project, such as research database, capacity building, workshops and pilot projects. c) Visiting Hospitals around the State for collection of data, preparation and implementation of action plans. d) Preparation of reports, presentations as desired under the project. d) Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
  6. Essential Qualifications a) Must have a Bachelor degree in first division in Life Sciences/Medicine/ Environmental Science or related disciplines (i.e. environmental studies / environmental engineering), management, project management from a recognized University or Institution. Post Graduation in the afore-said disciplines /Master in Business Administration will be preferred; b) The candidate should have passed Punjabi Language subject up to Matric standard.
  7. Duty Station One of the two Project Officer will be positioned at SAS Nagar and other at Ludhiana.
  8. Salary A consolidated salary of Rs 35, 000/- per month would be paid. Travelling allowance of Rs 4,000/- per month and Mobile Allowance of Rs 1,000/- per month would be paid extra. No other Allowance (or) perks will be admissible There will be no increase in salary in the two years of appointment.. The incumbent will be entitled for 10 casual leaves/year besides other Gazetted Holidays observed by SPMU, PPCB, Punjab

Maintains office schedule by picking-up and delivering items using automobile. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
  7. Essential Qualifications and Experience a) Must have a graduate degree in any discipline. b) Basic knowledge of computer. c) Atleast two years of experience in relevant field. d) The candidate should have passed Punjabi Language subject up to Matric standard.
  8. Duty Station SAS Nagar
  9. Salary A consolidated salary of Rs 12, 000/- per month would be paid. Travelling allowance of Rs 2,500/- per month and Mobile Allowance of Rs 500/- per month would be paid extra. No other Allowance (or) perks will be admissible. There will be no increase in salary in the two years of appointment. The incumbent will be entitled for 10 casual leaves/year besides other Gazetted Holidays observed by SPMU, PPCB, Punjab.

  4. Candidates should be of sound health and satisfy the medical fitness standards as fixed by the Board. The selected candidates should undergo a medical examination in the hospitals as prescribed and medical fitness of the candidates are further subject to certification by the Medical Officer.
  5. State Project Management Unit (SPMU) reserves the right to change the number of vacancies, and the vacancies notified may not be filled up. Further, SPMU reserves the right to restrict/alter/cancel/modify the recruitment process, if need so arises without notice or assigning any reason thereof. Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
