A. RECRUITMENT IN
(i) CATEGORY (1): No. of posts – 3 (three) Grade/Scale of Pay : PB-1, Pay R. 5200-20,200/- + Grade Pay Rs. 2400/2800/-
(ii) CATEGORY (2): No. of posts- 9(nine) Grade/Scale of Pay : PB-1, Pay Rs. 5200-20,200/- + Grade Pay Rs. 1900/2000/-
Educational Qualifications :
Category (1) – Minimum Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent.
Category (2) – Minimum pass in Matriculation or its equivalent.
Age: Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years (as on 01.01.2013)
Appointment will be subject to being medically fit in the appropriate category after
empanelment of the candidate.
Eligibility Conditions apart from indicated against item No.2.
(I) For Chess : The following sports achievements will also be considered for recruitment in the following Grade Pay and Pay Band.
(II) For Badminton : Sportspersons may also be considered for recruitment on the basis of their current annual All India Rankings; in the Grade Pay and Pay Band, as per following criteria
Only the current Annual All India Ranking shall be considered for these purposes. Ranking in Mixed- Doubles shall not be considered.
(III) For Cycling: Merit/performance certificates issued by the Cycling Federation of India headed by Sri P. S. Dhindsa as President and Sri Onkar Singh as General Secretary
will only be considered for recruitment.
(IV) For Hockey : For recruitment against the post having Grade Pay Rs. 1900/2000/- in
PB-I (Rs. 5,200-20,2000/-), at least 2nd position in the International Tournaments of four or more nations, will also be considered. Participation in these tournaments will also be considered for recruitment against the posts having Grade Pay Rs. 1800/- in PB-I (Rs. 5,200-20,2000/-).
(V) In Rifle Shooting: for recognized domestic championships, only the individual performance shall be considered for recruitment purpose. All India G.V. Mavalankar Shooting Championship is not a recognized championship for this purpose
B. RECRUITMENT IN CATEGORY (3): No of posts : 4 (four). Grade/scale of Pay : PB-I, Pay Rs. 5200-20200/- + Grade Pay Rs. 1800/-
Eucational Qualification : Minimum 10th pass or ITI or equivalent.
Age : Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years (as on 01.01.2013)
Appointment will be subject to being medically fit in the appropriate category after empanelment of the candidate.
Outstanding sports persons who are class-VIII passed and have sports norms identical to
Category – (1) & (2) above, can be considered for recruitment in (-) 1S Pay Band in scale Rs. 4440-7440 without carrying any Grade Pay. Such sports persons will be given the regular Pay Band of Rs. 5200-20200/- along with the Grade Pay Rs. 1800/- only on acquiring the minimum educational qualification required for PB-I GP Rs. 1800/- or passing the requisite training test.
GENERAL CONDITIONS :
(1)Sports persons having sports norms for higher Grade Pay and applied against the vacancies for the lower Grade Pay can be considered for recruitment. In such cases the sportsperson has to give an undertaking that he/she will not claim for higher Grade Pay after joining the railway, on the basis of sports achievement he/she has acquired prior to joining railways. (2)For recruitment in Athletics(M&W), Badminton (M&W),Basketball(W), Billiards etc. (M), Chess(M), Cycling(M), Football(M), Hockey(M), Shooting (M&W) and Volleyball (W) disciplines, the following age group of Junior National Championships will be considered as sports norms.
Eligibility : will be considered based on the performance in the championships held on 01.04.2010 or afterwards only and sportsperson shall be a currently active player. For this
purpose, concluding day of the championships will be taken into account. Performance in earlier championships, i.e. before 01.04.2010 will not be taken into consideration.
The selection will be conducted through trial and interview. (5) SC/ST candidates will have to submit a copy of Caste Certificate issued by duly authorized competent Govt. Authority for the purpose.
(i) Eastern Railway reserves the right to consider only those candidates who have potential to strengthen Eastern Railway’s existing team on the basis of field trial conducted
(ii) For individual events, the performance during the field trial should be at least equivalent or better than the 3rd place (time/distance etc.) of last All India Railway Championships.
(i) Postal Order of Rs. 60/- for the post in scale PB-I Rs. 5200-20200 + GP Rs. 2400/2800/- and Postal Order of Rs. 40/- for the post in scale PB-I Rs. 5200-20200 + GP Rs. 1900/2000/- and in PB-I GP Rs. 1800/- should be sent along with the application payable only at GPO/Kolkata. This is not applicable for SC/ST, Women, Minorities & Economically Backward Class Candidates. (a) Minorities will mean Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains & Zoroastrians (Parsis). (b) Economically backward classes will mean the candidates whose family income is less than Rs. 50,000/- per annum (ii) The following authorities are authorized to issue income certificates for the purpose of identifying economically backward classes :- (a) District Magistrate or any other Revenue Officer up to the level of Tehsildar. (b) Sitting Member of Parliament of Lok Sabha for persons of their own constituency. (c) BPL card or any other certificate issued by
Central Government under a recognized poverty alleviation programme or Izzat MST issued by Railways. (d) Union Minister may also recommend for any person from anywhere in the country. (e) Sitting Member of Parliament of Rajya Sabha for persons of the district in which these MPs normally reside. (iii) The income certificate issued by the authorities mentioned in Para-ii above would have to be as per Format-A given below consisting of the following informations as mentioned. This would have to be issued on the letter head of the issuing authority.
