Filling up two vacancies in the Grade of Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade) (General Central Service, Group-‘C’ NonGazetted, Non-Ministerial) in the PB-1 [Rs.5200-20200/-] plus Grade Pay Rs. 1900/- in the office of UPSC on Direct Recruitment basis -reg.

Applications (in the enclosed proforma) are invited from the eligible candidates to fill up two vacancies of Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade) (General Central Service, Group-‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) in the PB-1 [Rs.5200-20200/-] plus Grade Pay Rs. 1900/- in the office of UPSC on Direct basis within 45 days from the date of publication of the vacancy circular in the Employment News.

Eligibility Conditions:

  1. Essential: (i.) Possession of valid driving license for motor cars. (ii.) Knowledge of motor mechanism (The candidate should be able to remove minor defects in vehicles). (iii.) Experience of driving a motor car for at least three years.
  2. Desirable: (i.) A Pass in the 8th standard. (ii.) three years service as Home Guard Civil Volunteers. Note 1.: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretions of the Union Public Service Commission/ Staff Selection Commission/Competent Authority/Central Government in the case of candidates otherwise will qualified. Note 2.: The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the iscretion of the Union Public Service Commission/ Staff Selection Commission/Competent Authority/Central Government in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission/ Staff Selection Commission/Competent Authority/Central Government is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancy reserved for them.
  3. Age-limit:(a) 25 years [relaxable for Government servants up to the age of 40 years (45 years in case of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes Candidates) in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government]. Further, as per DOP&T OM No. 15012/2/2012-Estt. (D) dated 27/03/2012, the upper age-limit for recruitment by the method of Direct Open Competitive to the Central Civil Services and Civil Posts specified in the relevant service/recruitment rules on the date of commencement of the Central Civil Services and Civil posts (Upper age-limit for Direct Recruitment) Rules 1998, shall be increased by two years [Notification No. 15012/6/98-Estt. (D) dated 21.12.1998]. (b) In terms of provisions contained in Para 4 (i) & 8 (i) of Annexure of oP&T O. M. No. 51016/2/90-Estt. (C) dated 10/09/1993 regarding grant of temporary status and regularization of casual workers, the casual workers, who have been earlier engaged at least for 206 days in any year in this Office, will be eligible for age relaxation to the extent of period of their engagement as casual labourer, subject to production of a Certificate to that effect from the Office. This relaxation would be over and above the relaxation admissible to the SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-S candidates. Note 1.: The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India (and not the closing date prescribed for those in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizorum, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu Kashmir State, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub Division of chambu District of Himachal Pradesh, the Union Territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands or the Union Territory of Lakshadweep). Note 2.: The crucial date for determining the age limit in the case of candidates from Employment Exchange shall be the last date upto which the Employment Exchanges are asked to nominate candidates.
  4.  Period of Probation:The candidates will be on probation for a period of two (02) years.
