The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier national autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India, in the field of teaching, training and research. The WII wishes to engage 06 research personnel viz., 01–Junior Research Fellow, 01–Research Biologist, 01–Research Associate and 03–Project Biologists (Indian national only) through a walk-in-interview on Monday, 9th February 2015. Desirable :Desirable qualification for Two Project Biologists (Botany – Flora or Vegetation Studies) and One Project Biologists (Forestry) are as follows: Candidates with strong physical and mental abilities. Having a keen desire to carryout arduous field work in the remote and rugged high altitudes of Uttarakhand Himalaya under extreme cold or rainy conditions with minimal logistic support. Demonstrate ability to work in the field under harsh conditions. Demonstrate a passion for floral/forestry/wildlife research and conservation. Experience in basic vegetation techniques (study design, laying of plots etc.) and conversant with data analysis, ecological and statistical software. Have relevant research experience and published research papers to his/her credit. Experience of participation in scientific conferences/ workshops/meetings. Field research experience relevant to flora/ vegetation studies/forestry/wildlife science/ high altitude ecology/landscape approach to conservation
